INTRODUCTORY AND FAMILY RIFLE SHOOTING DAY

Shoot a variety of bolt-action rimfire rifles at ranges of 90-200m; speed shoot our .22 semi-autos; put into practice the marksmanship principles of safe rifle shooting; compete with each other to shoot the smallest group at a variety of distances.

This popular, safe and informative day focuses on teaching the key elements of rifle shooting including safe rifle handling, trigger control, target acquisition, making adjustments for wind and topography and the crucial art of spotting the fall of shot.

The day is aimed at families or groups that include children and young people under the age of 17 and is a great chance to experience rifle shooting for the first time. There is no lower age limit, however to get the best from the day our guide minimum age is 10 years old. Any child attending the day must be able to do as they are asked and concentrate on the task in hand.

Adults and children alike will learn to safely use our rifles and by the end of the day will all competing to be the best shot. Contrary to popular belief, it is often women and children who shoot the best on our family shooting

  • Safety briefing
  • Instruction on the marksmanship principles and skills
  • All ammunition, use of rifles and hearing protection
  • Correct rifle hold and trigger control
  • Target acquisition skills
  • .22 bolt-action rifle shooting at 90-120m
  • .22 semi-auto shooting with two 20-round magazines each
  • .22 bolt-action shooting at 200m
  • .17HMR and .22 WMR shooting at 200m
  • Shooting of reactive targets
  • Prize for the best shot on the day
  • Certificate of attendance

Our instructors are highly knowledgeable, patient and positive in their training techniques.
